Senior cycle students travelled to Roscommon Arts Centre today 28th Oct to view the Red Bird Youth Collective exhibition. This was a fantastic experience for both groups, whom for some was their first time to view an art exhibition. Here, there was a great range of Art to view from sculpture, audio and visual installations, photography and paintings. We also had a fantastic workshop given by Orla who was one of the organisers of this exhibition. In her workshop, Orla covered a major area in the appreciation of art section that involves the leaving cert art gallery question and this was of particular importance and interest to the leaving cert students.Here are some pics from our great day out.

6th Year Students please answer the following questions. Attention to 5th and 6th Year Art Students  On Fri 28th of Oct, both classes will be travelling to Roscommon Arts Centre to view the Red Bird Youth Collective Exhibition.We will be leaving School at 11.30 and return to class for 2.30. I hope all Students will be able to attend this wonderful experience.

1st Years were very busy learning how to make coil pots and using the medium of clay how to manipulate it using different techniques and methods.

5th Year Art History Homework Please answer the following Question. (2014 higher level paper) It can be argued that the most impressive early tombs in Ireland were passage graves. L.C.A 1 Class are very busy creating their facial sculptures. Using mod roc,which is a form of plaster, each student working in pairs, covers their face in cling film,(of course leaving a hole on the nose and mouth area to breath) and then apply this layers of the mod roc until the face is fully coverd and the features are visible. Each student thoroughly enjoyed this process and it was indeed great fun. Here are some pics of the class at work.
