3rd Years, for your drawing exam next week you are to select  objects/s from either  Man- Made Form or Organic Form. For example if you decide to go with organic form and choose fruit as your objects,think how you might set up an interesting still life. You may peel the fruit and add a chopping board, slice up different types of fruit and put them together for your still life. The idea is to make your drawing as interesting and as eye catching as opposed to a plain simple drawing!! Try and be as creative as you can!! you can use colouring pencils or pencil for your finished piece. Please do not forget your materials and chosen ideas on the morning.

5th Years, for your Christmas Drawing Exam on Mon Class 2:00- 3:15 you are to choose one o f the following arrangements and set it up in class A Breakfast still life Afternoon Tea Movie night My favourite snacks

Students you must pick one option from either Man-made or Organic Form. The list is as follows: Man-Mad Options: Wrist -Watch Football boot/Runner Tin-Opener Organic Forms: Friut/ veg Flowers Seashells So pick one from the above and start practicing, also remember you will also have to draw a close up of one part of the object you decide to draw. Leaving certs here is a great tutorial on drawing the facial features that you may find useful in life drawing. Please watch a few times to get a good grasp of the outline etc and then following along with this video give the drawing a good go!!!

The 1st year art class did an excellent job on drawing the face in a grid for homework. Here, are examples of the students work.  Here are the finished pottery pieces the class made from a few weeks back.  Here are some examples of the 3d lettering the class made using coloured card.

The class were very busy completing their beautiful silhouette paintings. They first used chalk pastel for the background and then using black poster paint, painted the darker shadow. Senior cycle students travelled to Roscommon Arts Centre today 28th Oct to view the Red Bird Youth Collective exhibition. This was a fantastic experience for both groups, whom for some was their first time to view an art exhibition. Here, there was a great range of Art to view from sculpture, audio and visual installations, photography and paintings. We also had a fantastic workshop given by Orla who was one of the organisers of this exhibition. In her workshop, Orla covered a major area in the appreciation of art section that involves the leaving cert art gallery question and this was of particular importance and interest to the leaving cert students.Here are some pics from our great day out.
